    Divination - Runestones

I tried several different methods but the first one that really stuck to me was runestones. Traditionally, according to some Asatruar sources I've met over the Internet, runes are supposed to be cast by tossing nine twigs on the ground and reading the symbols that they create as they overlap one another. The method of tossing runestones on a surface and reading the correspondences between the symbols on the stones in the manner of which they lay in relation to the reader as well as to each other is a reflection of the traditional casting method, although not considered to be authentic. The method of casting that gives me the best results is when I draw them from their pouch and place them in the pattern of a tarot card layout; three for a simple situation, 5 for a bit more complicated one, and a full Celtic Cross for a really complex one). I have never been able to read tarot cards really well; perhaps my mind operates on a more primal level to where it can read simple symbols better than deciphering messages from Jungian archetypes and other mental/psychological symbolism.
